About the AI Paraphraser / Rewriter

The AI Paraphraser rewrites a passage in a new voice while keeping what it says. Paste up to about 19,800 characters, pick one of five tones — Formal, Casual, Creative, Academic or Simple (5th grade) — and click Rewrite. The AI is instructed to preserve the meaning and keep the length within roughly 10% of the original, so a 150-word paragraph comes back at around 135–165 words rather than as a summary or an expansion.

Who it's for. Freelancers adapting one product description for several channels, small-business owners turning a stiff policy into friendly website copy, writers working in a second language who want a smoother draft, and anyone stuck rewording the same email for the tenth time.

Picking a tone. Formal suits client emails, proposals and reports. Casual loosens things up for social posts and newsletters. Creative takes more liberty with word choice and imagery. Academic favors precise, measured phrasing. Simple rewrites at roughly a fifth-grade reading level, which helps with instructions, FAQs and readers who are new to the language.

Example. Paste: "Hey, just checking if you got the invoice I sent last week — no rush, but it'd be great to get it sorted before the end of the month." With Formal selected you'd get something like: "I am following up on the invoice I sent last week. When convenient, I would appreciate it if payment could be arranged before the end of the month." Exact wording varies from run to run; copy the version you like.

Use it honestly. Rewording someone else's work doesn't make it yours: if the ideas came from a source, cite it, and check your school's or employer's rules on AI-assisted writing before you submit anything. The paraphraser doesn't check for plagiarism or verify facts, and a rewrite can occasionally shift meaning, so read the result carefully. Each rewrite uses one AI run from your daily allowance.

How to use it

  1. Paste your original text. Paste the passage you want reworded into the Original text box.
  2. Choose a tone. Pick Formal, Casual, Creative, Academic or Simple (5th grade) from the Tone menu.
  3. Click Rewrite. Press Rewrite and the new version streams into the Rewritten panel.
  4. Review the rewritten text. Read it against the original to confirm the meaning, names and numbers survived.
  5. Copy the result. Use the copy button beside the Rewritten heading to grab the new text.

Frequently asked questions

Is it plagiarism to submit text from the AI Paraphraser as my own work?

It can be. Rewording a source without crediting it is still plagiarism under most academic and publishing rules, so cite the original idea, and check whether your school or employer allows AI-assisted writing at all. The paraphraser is best used on your own drafts or with proper attribution.

What's the difference between the Formal and Academic tones in the AI Paraphraser?

Formal produces polished, professional business language for emails, proposals and reports. Academic leans toward precise, measured phrasing typical of essays and papers. Try both on the same paragraph if you're unsure which fits.

How much text can the AI Paraphraser rewrite at once?

The input box accepts about 19,800 characters. Because the rewrite is meant to be about the same length as the original and the AI's reply has a size cap, very long inputs can come back cut short, so rewriting a few paragraphs at a time gives the most reliable results.

Will the AI Paraphraser change the meaning of my text?

It's instructed to preserve meaning, and it usually does, but any rewrite can subtly shift emphasis or swap a technical term for a near-synonym that isn't quite right. Proofread closely, especially for figures, legal or medical wording and product specifications.

Can the AI Paraphraser make writing easier for non-native English readers?

Yes. Choose the Simple (5th grade) tone, which rewrites using shorter sentences and everyday words. It works well for instructions, onboarding emails and customer FAQs.
