About the AI Text Summarizer

The AI Text Summarizer turns a long block of text into 5–7 short bullet points, each capturing a separate idea. Paste an article, a meeting transcript, lecture notes or a long email thread — up to 20,000 characters, roughly 3,000 words — click Summarize, and the bullets stream into the Summary panel as they're written, ready to copy with one click.

Who it's for. Students working through assigned readings, freelancers catching up on a long client brief, creators researching a topic, and anyone who needs the gist of a document before deciding whether to read it in full. It works on pasted text only; it doesn't open links, so copy the article or transcript text itself into the box.

How the summary is shaped. The AI is instructed to keep each bullet to about 18 words or fewer, to give every bullet a different point, and to return nothing but the bullets. That makes the output easy to drop into notes, a team chat or a study sheet. Because the length is fixed at 5–7 bullets, a 300-word memo and a 3,000-word report come back at roughly the same size — longer sources are simply compressed harder.

Example. Paste the transcript of a 30-minute project call, about 15,000 characters. You get back a handful of bullets such as: launch moved to the 14th; Maria owns the new pricing page; refund policy still undecided; ad budget capped at the agreed figure; two follow-ups due Friday. Copy them into your project notes and you have meeting minutes in under a minute.

Check it before you rely on it. AI summaries can drop nuance, merge two points or occasionally state something the source didn't say. Treat the bullets as a map and go back to the original for exact figures, quotes or anything you'll cite. Each summary uses one AI run from your daily allowance; runs that fail aren't counted.

How to use it

  1. Paste your text. Paste an article, transcript or notes into the text box under "Paste your text".
  2. Check the character count. The counter below the box shows how much of the 20,000-character limit you've used.
  3. Click Summarize. Press the Summarize button to send the text to the AI.
  4. Read the bullet summary. Five to seven short bullet points stream into the Summary panel as they're written.
  5. Copy the summary. Use the copy button beside the Summary heading to grab all the bullets at once.

Frequently asked questions

How many bullet points does the AI Text Summarizer return?

It returns 5–7 bullets, each kept to about 18 words and prefixed with a • so they paste cleanly into notes. The count doesn't grow with the length of your text, so very long sources are compressed more aggressively than short ones.

What is the maximum length of text the AI Text Summarizer can handle?

Up to 20,000 characters per summary, which is roughly 3,000 words; the box stops accepting text at that point. For a longer document, summarize it section by section, then paste the combined bullets back in for an overall summary.

Can the AI Text Summarizer summarize a web page or YouTube video from a link?

No. It summarizes only the text you paste and doesn't fetch pages or videos from a URL. For an article, copy the body text; for a video or podcast, paste its transcript.

How accurate are the bullet points from the AI Text Summarizer?

They're usually a good overview, but AI summaries can leave out caveats, blend two ideas or occasionally misstate a detail. Verify any number, name, date or quote against the original before you use it in work, study or a decision.

Why does the AI Text Summarizer give a different summary when I run it again?

The AI writes each summary fresh, so wording and which points make the cut can vary between runs even for the same text. Every run uses one AI credit, so if the first version is close, editing it by hand is often quicker than regenerating.
